Plasticising effect is achieved due to reduction of surface tension of the mixing water. Due to better moistening, the fine parts are more equally distributed, thus making cement stone in concrete more homogenous. Positively affects the workability of concrete, increases the density, and frost-resistance. Besides as a plasticiser and homogenizator, it also acts as retardant, which is especially important for overcoming longer periods of time for transport and incorporation of concrete.
