System solutions > Problem - solution
The represented case shows a typical older building without basement, made of bricks, without hydro-isolation.
The biggest problem represents the plaster on the foundation of building, which does not allow the accumulated moisture to dry out at the fill up under the building. It also affects the increased capillary moistening of ground floor. Besides the building is an asphalt sidewalk. In that kind of case we suggest the followed process of restoration:
- Removal of existing plasters of the foundation and damaged plasters at the ground floor till stabile surface including with cleaning and deepening of joint widths
- Making a part-time moistening of the fill up under the building with perforated metal pipes and air lattice on the façade of foundation
- Making an interruption of the increased capillary moisture in the wall with silicone emulsion KEMASOL at the level of pavement ground floor; we fill up the wells after 30 days with waterproofed coating HIDROSTOP
- Putting on the HYDROMENT drying plaster at the foundations and at the ground floor at the height of approximately 0.7 m over the line of visible moisture
- Colour treatment of restored surfaces with steam-permeable colours (limy, silicate, silicone) respectively with thick layed silicate plaster at the side of façade
